A blend of virgin (not recycled) propylene glycol and high purity triple protection additives designed for use in hydronic heating and cooling closed loop piping systems (including radiant heating systems), most solar heating systems, and general plumbing systems. Hercules exclusive triple protection additives provide protection against acid corrosion, scale and sedimentation formation in systems containing cryo-tek anti-freeze and other propylene glycol preparations. Acid neutralizing agent protects by neutralizing acid. Mineral deposition preventative acts to prevent minerals from depositing on the surface walls of piping systems and equipment. Mineral sediment preventative keeps free-floating minerals in solution from precipitating out. This additive prevents mineral salts, or clusters of mineral salts, from forming large enough particles to precipitate, or drop, out of solution. All three agents work together to prevent bio film build-up. Use in systems fabricated with metal, plastics (except CPVC) and rubber piping, fittings, seals, and other parts. Corrosion inhibitors in cryo-tek protect against corrosive build-ups within the piping loop and are effective with most metals including steel, aluminum (up to 160 deg F/71 deg C) and copper. Cryo-tek is a 94 - 98% efficient heat transfer agent in most applications. It has a lower freezing point and a higher boiling point than water. As packaged, cryo-tek is non-flammable, odorless, non-toxic, non-irritating, and compatible with Hercules boiler stop leak and heating system cleaners.
